How old are figure skaters whenever they retire.?

You don’t ever really have to retire from skating. However, there will be a point where it just gets really hard for you to physically advance and keep learning new elements (usually early 20s). In the world of figure skating, you will not see many people continuing to seriously skate after the age of 23ish. Usually if they keep skating, they’re coaching and not working on improving their own skating. There are adult skaters and adult competitions out there for skaters. It just really depends on how you want to balance your skating with friends and school work and such. There was a man at a rink that I used to skate at who was in his 60s and he had been skating ever since his 20s. He wasn’t some prodigy who could do a bunch of amazing tricks, but he just enjoyed himself so much that he stuck with it all those years even though he knew he wouldn’t ever be able to do the double and triple (and single) jumps or those spins you see on tv.
