How often will trash/recycling be picked up?
Law requires that trash be picked up twice weekly, unless there is a community exemption. Right now Fountain Hills has an exemption to that and the normal process for those who collect both trash and recycling is one pick-up per week for each of those. The goal is to reduce the amount of garbage cans on the streets, reduce pollution, reduce the number of trucks on the town streets and reduce fuel consumption. Best case scenario would to be to have trucks on the streets only two days per week, one to collect garbage and one to collect recycling.
