How often should you seal limestone flagstones?

0

If you want to maintain the good condition of your limestone flagstones, it is important to seal them at least once a year. This will protect the natural stone from any stains and keep that beautiful, original finish looking its best.

The sealing process is quite simple. Generally, I use a high-quality sealant on all surfaces, such as joints, steps, and paths where dirt may accumulate or be tracked into the stone’s surface. I also find the most common types of sealants being an acrylic coating and penetrating sealant – these differ only in their thickness and ease with which they penetrate the stone.

Keep in mind that some products have fewer harmful chemicals than others – it might pay off to do some research before making a decision about what type of sealant to use.

If you are not sure about the best sealant to apply the sealant, your local business expert will provide you with more information on the best product to use.
