It’s every two hours. How did a mom dry up that quick? She should have milk. It’s difficult with a section because they don’t bond as easily since they are asleep during the birth, but if the puppies nurse, milk should be released. The hormones are what cause it. She should not be dried up. I’m not so sure your vet is correct. If they nurse, she will get milk. You just have to hold her down and force her to nurse them if she doesn’t want to. And even if she doesn’t appear to have enough milk, she should still have them with her for warmth and stimulation for their bowels. ————————————– I take it your vet did a mid-line incision? That’s such a poor choice. The lateral incisions avoid all these issues. I’m so sorry. It may cost your babies their lives simply because they can’t get colostrum from Mom. And it’s a shame because your vet caused it.
