How often should I rod out the plumbing in my coin laundry?
How often you should rod out your plumbing depends on how your plumbing was installed and how busy your store is. But, as a general rule of thumb, this procedure should be implemented about once a year. Of course, if your store’s plumbing is a bit undersized or if your self-service laundry is extremely busy, perhaps rodding should occur every six months. One way to tell if your plumbing requires rodding is by checking the soil level in your catch basin. Another sign that your plumbing needs to be rodded is if your store’s floor drains are overflowing, even if only ever so slightly. That’s generally an indicator that the pipes are dirty and need to be cleaned out.
