How often should I deworm my pets and is heartworm a problem in the UAE?

0

You should deworm your pet every 3 – 6 months depending on their exposure. i.e. a dog that is constantly sniffing around in the undergrowth and has a tendency to eat or chew rubbish while on a walk should be dewormed more frequently than one that stays on the path and rarely picks up rubbish. This applies to outdoor and indoor cats as well. Heart worm is not a problem in the UAE so treatment is not regularly given, however for exporting purposes some countries require heartworm prevention be administered before entry is granted.
