How often may I change margin and free credit interest rates?
As often as you like. These rates and the associated break points are user modifiable from within the System Administrator file. Client interest is not charged on an average balance, but is computed from the exact debit/credit balance each day. At trade-date month-end the accumulated charges or income is posted to the client account and the general ledger updated.
