– Ken from Kansas. The serpentine belt drives the power steering pump and A/C compressor. The maintenance schedule is outlined in your owners’ manual. Inspect and adjust (if necessary) the power steering pump and A/C compressor drive belt tension at 30K, 45K, 60K, 75K, 90K and 105K according to schedule B. We recommend that that you have a service manual on hand if you intend to replace any of drive belts. The accessory drive consists of two Poly-V type drive belts. One belt drives the generator, and the other drives the power steering pump and A/C compressor (if equipped). The power steering and A/C belt is tensioned by an automatically controlled belt tensioner. (The tensioner can be irrevocably damaged if you adjust it incorrectly.)
