A. We recommend that the Filter-Plus™ filter element for all pura DYN ® units, except the TF-8SP, be replaced at the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) approved/recommended oil drain interval. For gasoline engines, the TF-8SP filter should be replaced every 6,000 miles or 150 hours. The hour equivalent is based on an engine running the equivalent of an average speed of 40 miles per hour for 6,000 miles. For RV applications, the TF-8SP filter should be replaced at the recommended OEM oil drain interval. At the time the Filter-Plus™ filter element is changed, an oil sample should be taken and sent to a qualified laboratory to confirm the suitability of the oil for continued use. This schedule is based on average conditions of operation; however, the maintenance schedule may vary. Under severe usage conditions the filter may have to be changed more often.
