How often does the GammaMaster need to be calibrated or source checked?
The calibration of GammaMaster is not expected to drift over time and there is nothing that can be adjusted. Recommended calibration and source check frequencies depend on the intended use of the GammaMaster. If you want to use the GammaMaster for regulatory compliance, the time interval at which the calibration has to be checked will be given in your local regulations. The regulations may also stipulate that the calibration check has to be performed by an authorized lab. Even though the GammaMaster is quite accurate, most customers will not use it for regulatory compliance. We recommend that users expose the GammaMaster to radiation once in a while, to assure themselves that the unit works. You can purchase an inexpensive check source for that purpose or you can take the watch to where you know the radiation level is elevated (for example on a jet).
