How often does Sophos update virus / spam / spyware identities?
As often as needed. Once a new kind of threat is discovered Sophos analyse it and produce a new identity to detect and remove as soon as possible. Sometimes this can be 20, 30 even 40 times a day. Sometimes this is not necessary. Sophos features “Genotype” patented technology. Simply put, this means that Sophos is able to detect new variants and strains of existing threats automatically.
