Not all speed cameras are digital, but many are. These will send the pics electronically to a control centre for processing and do not need to be reloaded. The older type that require film will get reloaded on a regular basis depending on how often the authority expects it to be triggered. The quieter the road the less likely the camera will need a new film. I should ask what territory you are from, as this may have a bearing on the answer. If you’re in the UK and are the registered owner of the vehicle you were driving when you were flashed you should find out in a couple of days or so whether or not the authorities are going to take action against you. If you hear nothing within two weeks of the alleged offence you can generally assume that you’re safe.
