How often do I need to check the calibration of the cath lab system?
In theory, it should only be necessary to check the calibration of the cath lab system when the PressureWire Interface is being installed. However, experience shows that “gremlins” can occur in any technical system (or “helpful hands” readjusting the system for another purpose). We therefore recommend that a proper check of the calibration is performed prior to every procedure. In addition, during every procedure it should be verified that pressure registration by the PressureWire Sensor and the cath lab transducer, which is attached to the guiding catheter, are equal (when the PressureWire Sensor is first advanced to the tip of the guiding catheter and again when it is withdrawn to the tip of the guiding catheter at the end of a procedure).
