You should be doing a 25% water change every week and a 75% water change once per month. Test your water weekly, and if it comes back with “stress levels” do a 50% water change every other day and a 90% water change once per week, until the stress levels are gone.

I would only change your water twice a month in your tank and only change 1/4 of the water!!!
