How often do food businesses have to be inspected?
A3 There is a national Food Code of Practice issued by the Food Standards Agency which requires food businesses having higher risks to be inspected more frequently. Gedling Borough Council follows this national system for inspection in its annual inspection programme. Routine inspections can be as often as every six months for higher risk premises and every 24 months for the lower rated ones. Top of page.
