How often can employer groups change health plans?
You can change your present coverage or choose another carrier during the annual open enrollment period in April. Some carriers allow an extension of the open enrollment period for certain changes within the plan. For example, some carriers will only allow employer groups to change from one product to another on April 1st, but allow employers to submit all other transactions (add employees and other changes that don’t require a qualifying event, etc.) on April 1st, May 1st and June 1st. Please check with the SBSB Member Service Department for plan-specific requirements.
