The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) performs three types of safety inspections; garage inspections, site inspections and field trip inspections. These inspections consist of a review of a number of important contractual safety requirements of the vehicle as well as a review of the condition of the vehicle. They also serve to ensure that drivers and escorts certified as qualified by OPT are transporting the students to school.
