How often and when does ComEd hold RFPs?
Pursuant to the Illinois Public Act 95-0481 (the “Act”), the Illinois Power Agency (“IPA”) files a Procurement Plan with the Illinois Commerce Commission (“ICC”) on an annual basis. On September 30, 2009, the IPA submitted its Initial Power Procurement Plan (“Plan”) to the ICC in compliance with the Act. The Illinois Commerce Commission (“ICC”) approved the Plan with modifications on December 28, 2009. The Plan provides for procurement of energy supply for a two-year period beginning on June 1, 2010 and ending on May 31, 2012 and provides for the acquisition of renewable energy credits (“RECs”) for a term of one-year (the 2010-2011 period). The ComEd Standard Products RFP solicits supply for the two year period beginning on June 1, 2010 and ending on May 31, 2012 and the ComEd Renewables RFP solicits RECs for a one-year term.
