How Nuclear Power is produced today?
In Nuclear power plants, energy can be also released by modifying the structure of certain atomic nuclei. The most common process to release this energy is a process called fission. Here, the release of energy results from splitting of heavy nuclei into lighter fragments. The energy released appears principally as energy in motion producing heat. The heat produced can be removed and used to generate electricity*. The biggest problem of nuclear fission is the radioactive waste produced during the process, which remains dangerous for thousands of years.
