How music changed in the 20th century?
I think I can answer this. Music during the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s were big band swing, with musical talents like Glen Miller and Benny Goodman composing and also participating with their respective bands. Those guys also did add vocals on some of their music like using talents like Helen Forrest. that kind of music was good dance music, some of it soft, and some of it fast pace, but it was all snappy. Then by the mid 50’s, rock and roll came around, known as rockabilly. It still had some mixture of some jazz and swing, add in a little country, but it sounded different than all of those forms. Bill Haley and the Comets, Little Richard, Elvis, they all capitalized on that. Also during that time, doo wop also came about, from the late 50’s through ealry 60’s, with the Platters, the Drifters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, etc. That and quieter gentler soft rock songs from singers like Leslie Gore, Bobby Rydell, Ray Charles, the Beach Boys. Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, and others showed up
