How much would it cost to turbo or supercharge a mazda rx8?
To previous posters. No, the RX8 does not come with Forced Induction. Nor are you ever likely to see Mazda Super or Turbo Charge them from the factory. It’s hard enough to get a Wankel Rotary Engine to meet emissions standards or get decent fuel mileage… And torque #’s mean very little (although more is always better…). Low torque but high rpm’s mean high HP, and low gearing can can counter low torque for pulling power/acceleration. Hence C&D Magazine getting 0-60 times of 5.9 sec from a 158 lb.ft. torque rotary. Let’s see a Honda do that Supercharger designs for the RX8 have to be very specific as none of the simple packages can handle the extreme RPM range of the rotary engine.
