If you’re taliking brand new as a replacement for a faulty auto gearbox, I’d say around £1500 – £2000. You’re far better off taking the whole car to an auto specialist for diagnosis with a view to repairing your existing unit. Many will collect your car if it’s undriveable. Don’t remove the gearbox before deciding what to do, as most diagnostics require the ‘box ‘in situ’. The HRV gearbox is exceptionally reliable, it may be a relatively straightforward repair.
