Lexxie, even for something as apparently simple as a two-stall stable, there’s a lot involved, more than just carpenters hammering and sawing wood. You need a foundation of some sort. The ground under the stable needs to be leveled and graded, then the foundation put in. Do you want to have electricity in the stable so you have lights after dark and can plug in electric clippers or a radio? Then you need to have the stable wired and a power cable run from the electrical main. Do you want water in the stable? I sure hope so, horses need water, and even if all you intend to do is have a faucet with a hose, that means you need a plumber run a line out from your water main. If you put up any structure on your property more complex than a child’s playhouse, you need to get the plans approved by the planning commission and you need to to build the structure to code.
