A black cab will cost a fortune, especially if it gets stuck in traffic. A zone 1 and 2 travel card is £5.60, children under 11 travel free on the underground and buses, and over 11s can get a travel card for £1. Get the Northern line towards Morden at London Bridge underground. Change at Elephant and Castle towards Queens Park on the Bakerloo line, then change at Piccadilly Circus for the Piccadilly line towards Uxbridge or Heathrow. Get off at South Kensington and it will be a few minutes walk through the foot tunnel. This journey will take about three quarters of an hour. You will be able to use your travel card on the buses, underground and DLR if you find yourself with time to explore. Enjoy your visit, the museum is great.
