Not knowing where you live…most people won’t be able to do more than provide possible causes of the issues. Where I live, the average hydro bill for myself (in an 800sqft appt) with no AC and radio/computer generally powered-up 24/7, is less than $20. Move my usage details into some areas in the US and you’d be looking at 4-5 *times* that. Now, for the actual unit (if you’re planning on replacing it)…you’d be better off contacting some heating/cooling contractors in your area and asking for quotes. Just remember to ask for costs for a) Unit only, and b) Installed price. Lastly, do yourself a favour…make a list of 4-5 contractors who’s prices you like and call the BBB and any other agency that monitors/licenses businesses of this type to see if any have complaints or such issued against them. Also, check into how long the company has been in business. While a start-up may not necessarily be a bad company to use, one that has been in business for years is *more likely* to be reliab
