How much will the paving stones settle?
As long as the base rock prepping is done correctly paving stones should not settle more than 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch over the next 6-12 months. The prepping stage is the most crucial step when working with paving stones and we take this step very seriously. For a driveway we typically install a minimum of 6 inches of Class II base rock and compact it to 95% relative compaction. If any settling does occur it will most likely happen within the first year, which is why we always have a two year warranty on all of our work. 8.
