How much will the Michigan Army National Guard pay for my education in college?
You’ll have to check with a recruiter for your state’s specific education benefits. I’m with the AZ Air National Guard. Here’s how it works for me: I currently use the GI Bill REAP (Chap 1607, Reserve Educational Assistance Program; increased funds for members called to a minimum of 90 days active duty in response to a contingency). I would normally get the regular Selected Reserve GI Bill (Chap 1606), but since I am eligible for REAP, that replaces it. I also receive an extra “kicker” of $350 since I enlisted into a critically-manned field. In addition to the GI Bill, I receive Arizona Tuition State Reimbursement, which comes in the form of a check in the mail after the end of the semester. The GI Bill portion arrives as a monthly direct deposit into my account just like a paycheck. So with my current tuition and fees, the GI Bill covers a bit more than I actually pay, but I still get the money. Since I get state reimbursement on top of that for the full amount of my tuition and fees,
