How much will the JTF CapMed cost tax payers and is it truly necessary to complete BRAC law?
A. JTF CapMed costs are mainly related to labor in the form of military, civilian and contractor salaries. JTF CapMed will be task organized and predominantly use existing personnel from the Services, Multi-Service Market Office, Office of Integration and contract personnel already performing key tasks. JTF CapMed provides a single point of accountability in the decentralized BRAC management structure. Creating JTF CapMed provides efficiency and accountability in decision making. Having a single leader in charge removed from the day to operation of the medical centers allows for proper focus on patient care by the hospital commanders and healthcare delivery and BRAC planning by the JTF CapMed commander.
