How much will go directly to the schools versus into an endowment?
Initially 100% of the funds raised will go to programs that address an important educational gap while furthering our ability to raise sustainable funding from outside sources or to specific initiatives that help to mitigate budget cuts incurred by state and federal funding decreases. Once these initial programs are established and successful, the Pacifica Education Foundation plans to begin fund-raising to build an endowment. An endowment is a long-term goal and efforts to form on are unlikely to be launched until 2012 or later.
