How much will each community pay into the LMFR through property taxes?
Village residents will be paying the largest share of taxes to the LMFR, in comparison to the other communities that currently comprise the LMFR. Based on estimates from the Hamilton County Auditor, the 7.5 mill rate (including the proposed capital improvement mill) assessed on Mariemont property by the LMFR will generate $950,700 for the LMFR. The addition of Mariemont’s property tax dollars will increase LMFR’s revenues by 56%. The other communities of the LMFR will be paying the following amount of property taxes (based on 2009 rates): Newtown, $689,925; Columbia Township, $551,768; and Fairfax, $433,823. In terms of percent, the communities’ respective contributions to the LMFR’s revenue tax base will be: Mariemont, 36%; Newtown, 27%; Columbia Township, 21%, and Fairfax, 16%.
