How much will a micro-wind turbine cost?
The cost of installing a wind energy system depends very much on the size and type of system you choose. A small, roof-mounted system can cost from £1,500 whereas a 2.5kW system will cost around £11,000 to £12,500, which includes all equipment, masts, battery storage if required, and installation. A larger 6kW system could range form £18,000 to £25,000. The life span of a micro-wind turbine is about 20 years, but it will need a service check every few years to ensure efficiency. The blades may need to be replaced at some point too, as will the batteries for off-grid systems, which usually last from six to 10 years.
