Using a Deep Cycle Lead Acid Battery, DC Speed Controller and Motor will cost between $10,000 & $20,000. Using the same Battery with an AC Controller and AC Motor, will cost between $15,000 and $25, 000. Using a Nickel Metal Hydride Battery, AC Controller and AC Motor will cost between $20,000 and $30,000. Using a Lithium Ion Battery, AC Controller and AC Motor will cost between $30,000 and $50,000. Using a Lithium Polymer Battery, AC Controller and AC Motor will cost between $40,000 and $70,000. The good news is, battery prices have dropped in the past year and are continuing to fall. Correction: The price of lead acid batteries is due to increase by 10% in July 2007.
