How much weight can loose in a week if you starve yourself?
A person would definitely loose weight by not eating in a week… the amount really depends on the persons weight and metabolism at the time of starting the starvation. After going without food for a period of time the metabolism slows and the body begins to store fat while using lean muscle tissue to feed itself. So while you may initially loose weight it would be completely off-set by the weight that your body would retain as soon as food is re-introduced to the body. At one point I was ill and consuming approximately 600 calories a day and during that time (mind you I only weighed about 130 to begin with and I am 5’9″) I was dropping four to seven pounds a week and got down to 104. So five pounds could be very realistic. The thing was that as I recovered from the illness I gained more weight than what I was at the on-set of the illness and really had to work to re-gain muscle mass.
