You can lose 1/2 pound to 2 pounds a day on a water fast. When you break the fast you will need to break it as long as you were on it. So 30 fasting will mean 30 days of reintroducing easily digestible foods in the form of fruits and vegetables into your body slowly, and that will keep you from gaining the weight back.
