How much weight can a normal riding horse carry?

0

Depends on size of what u call normal riding horse and also breed u are thinking of..varies from breed to breed i find some are natural weight bearers through breed though they don’t initially look like they are…so really depends on breed..and what u want to do with the horse as well… as a riding instructor we would keep as u call normal riding horses to max weight say of 11 stone even though that could be argued over in the tack room as all horses are diff, but u got to remember the horse has allot expected from it in a riding school so is a diff scenario and may be also governed by the riding schools insurance…. sorry if i not much help but really do need more information as well if possible please… height is based of horse being between 14.2 to 15hh and of a light/medium bone composition…
