How much water should I mix into the GM antifreeze in the winter?

Forget the 50/50 mix advertising line. It’ll prolly cost you more in the long run. Use as much water as possible while maintaining a reasonable freezing temp protection for the area. Most antifreeze jugs have a temperature (mixture %) chart on the label. Why use the minimum amount of antifreeze? To avoid cooling problems in the summer (water transfers heat much better than antifreeze) and the greater the antifreeze percentage the more likely cooling system coolant related problems are to occur. Also be wary of the 5yr/50k mile claims. If not flushed/replaced every 2yrs, check the coolant pH. You’ve been warned…

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
