How much water pressure (PSI) does the Steamin Demon use?
The Steamin Demon cleans using whatever water pressure is provided by the municipal water delivery system. It varies, but typically runs between 50 and 80 PSI. But PSI alone does not tell the full story of how the Steamin Demon cleans. More important is the Impact Rate, which measures a combination of PSI and water flow. (For more on Impact Rates, see Pressure vs. Water Flow.) What if the water flow (or pressure) at a job site is low? Occasionally, the hot water tap at a job location may – either by design or because of pipe corrosion – offers restricted flow. If this occurs, turn on the cold water as well. Doing so should give you sufficient water flow of at least 3 GPM. With all that flow, won’t I quickly run out of hot water? So long as you are cleaning in a home or facility that has a full-size hot water tank, it is very unlikely that you will run out of hot water.
