How much water is too much to drink in one day?

It really depends on your body, how much water you’re losing through sweat and the like, and the time span in which the water is being consumed. If you work out, you need to take in water to make up for what you are losing by sweating. If you are just trying to up your water intake, then you shouldn’t be drinking as much. They (whoever they are) say you should have about 2 liters of fluid a day (or 8-8 oz. cups). Your body can handle more as long as you have healthy, full functioning kidneys, but don’t go overboard. It is possible to die from drinking too much water, like the radio contest contestant who drank something like 6 liters in 3 hours, but I really think you would have to be trying really hard to pull that off.
