How much water is consumed by a 3.5 ton AquaStar unit?
There is no simple or single answer since there are so many configuration issues as well as a dependency on how the unit is operated. If you are trying to bring the temperature down 10 degrees or 30 degrees it makes a difference. If an internal fan coil is used and a closed loop system on the outside there will be almost no water loss aside from purging every so often to keep the system clean. What we do know is that at the highest level of consumption, with both an internal and external air-water contactor it amounts to about $7.00 of water per month while saving $100+ dollars of electricity.
