How much water does CCA take to produce its carbonated soft drinks?
At a recent Water and Industry seminar in Melbourne CCA was praised for our water savings by the Victorian Premier John Brumby. The Queensland Premier and Deputy Premier have also this year congratulated CCA on its water saving techniques and practices. We use town or mains water to produce our carbonated soft drinks. We believe we are worlds best practice for our industry nationally on average we use just 1.5 litres of water to produce one litre of soft drink. Most of the water used goes into the beverage, with just two cups per litre left to run and clean our manufacturing sites. Each year we work hard to bring this ratio down. Our 2007 water efficiency target is 1.48 L/FBL. We use town or mains water to produce our carbonated soft drinks. We strongly support state governments mandating industry to save water through Water Savings Action Plans in conjunction with local water retailers.
