How much VAT and Duty will I be charged for shipping from USA?

That depends on shipping method and shipping agent used. If sent USPS (United States Postal Service) then there is an £8 fee charged by the post office (other shipping agents like FedEx or UPS cost more) for clearing customs for you. On top of that there is UK VAT at 17.5% If ANY “express” service is used the VAT is calculated on the cost of the item AND shipping cost. Non express services have the VAT calculated on the item cost only. It doesn’t matter which state the item is bought in, as an international customer you do not pay US taxes. If the £87 you quoted is shipping via a USPS Express service the cost would be (87+8)x1.175 = £111.63 If it’s a non express USPS service it would cost less. Shippers such as UPS/FedEx would cost more. Some items sent via USPS will pass through customs without collecting charges but more often than not I do get charged. All items sent via other services will require import fees and VAT.
