The Rover V8 is a piece of cake for any reasonable DIY mechanic to work on, you could easily do it yourself provided the heads don’t need skimming. The Head gasket set is £105, plus fluids (oil, antifreeze etc) from Rimmer Bros, Lincoln, probably cheaper elsewhere. If you’re going to DIY, do both heads.
