How much time will an intervention process take and how soon can a team be at our church?

Before an intervention team arrives at the church for the site visit phase, church leaders (both formal and informal) and those persons most closely associated with the conflict are asked to complete homework. This pre-intervention homework is usually completed within a two to three-week period. During this time, Peacemaker Ministries is forming an intervention team who will be reviewing the church’s constitution, bylaws, policies, board minutes, and any other documents that will provide helpful information related to the conflict(s). The church is further instructed to promote The Peacemaker Seminar, the kickoff event for an intervention, and encourage all members to attend. This seminar trains everyone in the same language and biblical principles of conflict resolution that will be used during the seven-day site visit process. Most churches require four to six weeks advance scheduling time to successfully promote this initiating event.
