You could send a robot to Mars using a Centauri rocket now. It would take a bit over 6 months using a Hohmann minimum energy orbit. NASA does not have any rockets that could sent humans to Mars and likely won’t for 7 to 10 years. To learn about NASA’s current plan to go to Mars see the book, “Expedition Mars” by Martin J. L.
