How much time do students spend in literacy stations each day?

I allow about 45 minutes for literacy stations each day. The stations activities generally take this much time. I plan extensions for acivities for those who tend to work more quickly. Students who do not complete an activity store unfinished work in the designated area and finish it at the start of stations the following day.
