In addition to the programming system, CoDeSys provides a perfectly coordinated run time system. This combination ensures our clients minimal customization time and expense. Ideally, your PLC should be equipped with one of the following standard processors: 8051, 68000, 80X86 or 80C16x, ARM, PowerPC, Renesas (formerly Hitachi) SH 2/3/4 or ColdFire, for which we offer ready backends and a native code generation. Code generators for controllers not equipped with the above processors are in preparation. Generally speaking, a test customization can be performed in two days time (see the implementation page for more information). This includes communication, process image, debugging and embedding into the existing environment. Now CoDeSys can be used to program the PLC with all online functions such as monitoring, breakpoints, sampling trace, etc. in all five IEC languages.
