How much support do tomato plants need to climb on?

I use large, collapsible heavy wire cages cages that are made of panels can be hooked together and made into four or three panel cages. They are about 6 feet tall and will hold any tomato you put in them. You can usually find them in a garden center. I like them because I don’t have to build a new support system every year, and they collapse and are storable in my garden shed without taking up much room. I think I paid $6 each for them about 4 years ago, and still use them every year.
