Tomato plants are heat loving, but can do without all day sun. They do need at least 6 hours of sun to produce fruit though. They will do well with up to 8 hours of light, but if it’s very hot, you can give them some filtered sun with some cheese cloth over the top of them. This will help your tomatoes to ripen.
