How much spending money per day for travel in London, Paris, Brussels?
In London you can buy a daypass for the tube that costs 6 GBP. If you plan on being there for over a week get an Oyster card (purchase it at any tube station) and put a week pass on it (3 GBP for the card, 23 GBP for the week pass). The Oyster is their electronic tube/bus card, similar to the Octopus in Hong Kong. There’s no need to pay for taxis unless you want to burn through money very quickly. There are wonderful little sandwich places called Pret a Manger or E.A.T. all over the city where you can get a sandwich and a drink for about 5 or 6 GBP and they are very tasty and not soggy. Or you can go to Boots (the drug store) and they have lunch combos where you get a sandwich, bottled drink and snack for 4.95 GBP. When it comes to food – don’t think conversion rates. If you plan to dine out, plan for about 30 GBP per person to be safe. Avoid the regular tourist traps like Hard Rock CafĂ© and check out some local Thai or Indian places.
