How much space does MountainScope take on a PocketPC?
A minimum installation with only lo-res terrain data takes about 5.3Mb of space. Hi-res terrain data files (one square degree each) vary in size between 6kb and 1.3Mb, depending on how rough the area is. The planning software on a laptop or desktop computer will figure out which hi-res terrain files are needed to fly the plan, and copy them to the PocketPC. If you get a storage card 512Mb or bigger, then it can hold the entire continental U.S. high-res terrain.
